New Direction 🤔
The nature of a free inquiry project is that it changes over time. I was inspired by my last post, the ways Rainbow Loom can be integrated in the classroom, and I have decided to take a different direction with my inquiry project. I have created a resource that teachers can use in the classroom! It is a pattern booklet that students can use to follow along with to make a bracelet. For this resource, I made a starburst bracelet and photographed every step of the way.
I then took it into Canva and made each step for the pattern with the picture and a few words, trying to make it as accessible as possible with visuals as well as words for students to follow along. This pattern is a bit more complicated, so I used a red border and gave the pattern 3/3 stars for difficulty. Next, I am going to make some easier ones to show the progression students could go through. The colouring and star rating make it so students can independently choose a pattern at a level they feel comfortable with. The easiest bracelets will be bordered in green with a one star, and the medium ones will be yellow with two stars.

I am really happy with the way this free inquiry project has taken me. This resource is something I can use in my own classroom, as when I was researching downloadable patterns like this, they were few and far between. I’m excited about the fact that I am adding something new to the creative side of education!
